CAOS 2024: Editor's Preface

About the volume:

This volume contains the papers presented at CAOS 2024: The 24th Annual Meeting of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery held on June 19-22, 2024 in Groningen, NL.

There were 104 submissions and each was reviewed by at least two program committee members, one of whom was clinical and the other with a technical background. The committee decided to accept 53 papers for podium presentation, 10 for a special poster and short podium presentation, and 28 for poster presentation. Authors of 49 of these opted into this open access proceedings volume.

About the conference:

In 2024, the International Society for Computer-Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) was composed of an exciting programme of presentations hosted at the University Medical Centre of Groningen, Netherlands, which, by being located within a bustling hospital setting, helped to emphasise the importance of the developments presented. This year, the Society continued to strengthen its leadership in burgeoning CAOS domains including oncology, novel sensors, software, advanced planning, and clinical workflows, to name a few.
